Try to build powerpc without altivec. The code is build for apples altivec data types and operation (-faltivec, types vec_*) which seem to be incompatible with todays mainline gcc powerpc alticev (-maltivec).

Having a look at http://www.ka9q.net/demod2.tar.bz2 we learn that it should build with gcc. And that -maltivec is wrong, try -faltivec
