Usage
-----

This is crosscrash, a version of 'crash' with additional patches to allow
cross debugging. To use it, you have to start crosscrash with the -T <arch>
parameter, for example

# crosscrash -T ia64 vmlinux vmcore

to open a dump from an Itanium machine on x86_64.

Because we cannot guarantee that the patches break native debugging, we still
ship the 'crash' package as it is. So if you have any problems with crosscrash
and a machine of the architecture available that produced the dump, please
try with 'crash'.

Known issues
------------

Currently this software is in ALPHA state, this means that most things don't
work as expected. I'm trying to improve that software quickly so that crosscrash
is usable in SLES 11 GMC.

What currently works:

- Open native dumps on all supported architectures.
    - Open dumps of i386, x86_64 and ia64 on x86_64.

What currently does not work:

- Open dumps on 32 bit machines from 64 bit machines.
    - Open dumps on big endian platforms from little endian platforms and
      vice versa.
