File TODO of Package rembrand
somtimes images are compiled into binary programs directly. Most often this is done with .xpm images. To get branding removed from such images, we suggest the following procedure: - unpack the corresponding source rpm. e.g. /usr/bin/BackGround contains xpm images. $ mkdir -p /tmp/rembrand/xdmbgrd; cd /tmp/rembrand/xpmbgrd $ env ABUILD_RPM_BUILD_STAGE=-bp build $ ls -l /tmp/buildsystem*/usr/src/packages/BUILD/xdmbgrd-* -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 38776 Jan 6 1997 Linux.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 897 Sep 21 13:43 Makefile -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 13338 Mar 20 2000 SuSE.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 51180 Mar 20 2000 SuSE_Linux_0.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 54242 Mar 11 2004 SuSE_Linux_1.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 84805 Mar 11 2004 SuSE_Linux_5.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 45464 Sep 21 13:39 SuSE_Linux_6.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 32538 Sep 21 13:40 SuSE_Linux_7.xpm -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 5666 Mar 11 2004 backgrd.c -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 3202 Mar 21 2000 login-pos.c -rwxr-xr-x 1 99 99 1514 Mar 11 2004 piggyback -rw-r--r-- 1 99 99 5209 Sep 21 14:01 unzip.c - patch the images appropriatly ... - compile a binary from the patched source tree $ env ABUILD_RPM_BUILD_STAGE='-bc --short-circuit' build --no-init .. oops, build still removes and unpacks the tar ball... we need some better trick here.
