File README.SUSE of Package switch_sles_sle-hpc
Switch from SLES 12 to SLE-HPC 12 ================================= This script lets you switch from a subscription of the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) to subscription for SUSE Linux Enterprise High Performance Computing (SLE-HPC). Migration to later Service Pack Levels -------------------------------------- This tool is only meant to run on SLES-12 with service pack level 2 or higher. It will not change your service pack level. If you wish to migrate to a later service pack you may do so either before or after running this tool. On SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 the HPC module is no longer available for SLES. This module can only be activated on SUSE Linux Enterprise HPC 15. Therefore, on migration to SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 or later, the target product depends on whether the HPC module activated prior to migration: SLES 12 systems with activated HPC module will be migrated to SUSE Linux Enterprise HPC 15, while systems without this module will be migrated to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15. Any SLE-HPC 12 system will be migrated to SUSE Linux Enterprise HPC 15 regardless of the activation status of the HPC module. Usage ----- If you have been supplied with a new key for the SLE-HPC subscription, you may provide this when running this tool. Registration keys for SLES subscriptions are also valid for SLE-HPC. If you have a SLES subscription which you plan to re-use you may do so by omitting the key from the command line. If you have recieved a registration key for a SLE-HPC subscription when you have renewed your subscription, you need to supply this. This tool may run in batch mode not requiring any interactive input by the user. Usage: switch_sles_sle-hpc [-h | -e <email> -r <regcode>] [-y] -y: run in batch mode, do not ask questions
