- Update to version 2.2.0:
* guile-64bit.patch no longer applies. I haven't forward-ported
it to the new version because it's not obvious to me whether
this patch is still required in the new code base, which is
quite different [boo#1032881].
* libguilereadline.so no longer exists.
Fails to build for ppc64le (CC @psimons)
autogen needs to be updated to cope with guile 2.2 (CC @Andreas_Schwa)

Needs support updates for gdb and autogen first...
autogen build failure: https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:I/autogen/standard/i586

guile is proposed for an update, but your two packages fail with this
This update STILL impacts gdb and autogen negatively
Seems nobody cares enough for this update to take care of gdb and autogen... as long as those two fail, this package can't progress
autogen fix has landed - only gdb left failing
gdb build fix is still missing - backlog, so that the rest in the staging prj can move on...
Anybody even working on fixing gdb? Otherwise, revoke this and submit it again when there is actual interest in it.
I'm not aware of anybody trying to make gdb work with the new guile. They removed a whole interface which gdb is using and I personally don't know any alternative (though my knowledge of guile is non-existant).
There is always the option of disabling the support for guile extensions. It's only there because guile is the official GNU extension languange, and it doesn't look like it's got a lot of usage (compared to python extensions).
Hmm, true, I can do that as well. As upstream doesn't currently seem very interested in guile support that might be the best course even.
Unignored: returned to active backlog.
