KDing is a KDE frontend for Ding, a dictionary lookup program. It is a simple
program sitting in KDE's system tray that can translate the current clipboard
content. The user can also enter a single word or a phrase which is then
translated using Ding.
KDing is intended to translate between German and English, but as it uses Ding
to do the actual translation it can be used for every language for which a word
list is available for Ding.

libgpod is a shared library to access the contents of an iPod. This library is based on code used in the gtkpod project. Starting with V0.96.CVS gtkpod depends on this library.
This code was originally part of gtkpod itself. When the parsing code was made self-contained with gtkpod V0.93, we chose to put this code in a separate library so that other projects can benefit from it without duplicating code.
libgpod supports playlists, smart playlists, playcounts, skipcounts, ratings, podcasts and cover art. Audio as well as video is supported. Photo support has been implemented with version 0.4.2.
You are welcome and encouraged to use this library in your own projects and extend it's functionality. Please contact gtkpod-devel at lists.sourceforge.net for assistance (you may ask for a CC in the responses if you don't want to sign up to the list).
The ltsp-utils are mainly used to install and manage the components of LTSP, the Linux Terminal Server Project
Miro is a free application for channels of internet video (also known as

you an elegant fullscreen viewing experience.
Music Player Daemon (MPD) allows remote access for playing music (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC, Mod, and wave files) and managing playlists. MPD is designed for integrating a computer into a stereo system that provides control for music playback over a local network. It is also makes a great desktop music player, especially if you are a console junkie, like frontend options, or restart X often.
Partition Image is a Linux/UNIX partition imaging utility: it saves all used
blocks in a partition to an image file. This image file can be compressed
using gzip or bzip2 compression to save space, and even split into multiple
files to be copied to movable media such as Zip disks or CD-R.
The following partition types are supported:
- Ext2FS (the Linux standard)
- ReiserFS (a new, powerful journalling file system)
- NTFS (Windows NT File System)
- FAT16/32 (DOS & Windows file systems)
- HPFS (OS/2 File System)
- JFS (IBM Jounalized File System for AIX)
- XFS (SGI Jounalized File System for IRIX)
- HFS (Hierarchical File System for MacOS)
This allows you to back up a full Linux/Windows system with a single
operation. When problems such as viruses, crashes, or other errors occur, you
just have to restore, and after several minutes your system can be restored
(boot record and all your files) and fully working.
This is also very useful when installing the same software on many machines:
just install one of them, create an image, and just restore the image on all
other machines. Then, after the first one, each machine installation can take
just minutes.
QuickSynergy is a graphical interface (GUI) for easily configuring Synergy2, an application that allows the user to share his mouse and keyboard between two or more computers.
Without the need for any external hardware, Synergy2 uses the TCP-IP protocol to share the resources, even between machines with diferent operating systems, such as Mac OS, Linux and Windows.
So QuickSynergy is a graphical user interface for Linux and Mac OS systems, since the official website presents only a Windows version.
steak is a small commandline translator tool. it can be downloaded from sourceforge at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=59130
This program was developed as part of the PingoS project to teach children how to type computer keyboards. Languages German and English available.
x11vnc allows one to view remotely and interact with real X displays (i.e. a display corresponding to a physical monitor, keyboard, and mouse) with any VNC viewer. In this way it plays the role for Unix/X11 that WinVNC plays for Windows.

patched version of fuse for glusterfs
GlusterFS is a clustered file-system capable of scaling to several peta-bytes. It aggregates various storage bricks over Infiniband RDMA or TCP/IP interconnect into one large parallel network file system. Storage bricks can be made of any commodity hardware such as x86-64 server with SATA-II RAID and Infiniband HBA).

libibverbs is a library that allows userspace processes to use InfiniBand "verbs" as described in the InfiniBand Architecture Specification. InfiniBand is a high-throughput, low-latency networking technology. InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs) commonly support direct hardware access from userspace (kernel bypass), and libibverbs supports this when available.
