NetHogs is a small 'net top' tool. Instead of breaking the traffic down per packet type or per subnet, like most similar tools do, this groups bandwidth by process, and does not rely on a special kernel module to be loaded. So if there's suddenly a lot of network traffic, you can immediately see which PID is causing this, and, if it's some kind of spinning process, kill it.

packETH is a Linux GUI packet generator tool for ethernet. It allows you to create and send any possible packet or sequence of packets on the ethernet.

Features:

* you can create and send any ethernet packet. Supported protocols:
o ethernet II, ethernet 802.3, 802.1q, QinQ
o ARP, IPv4, user defined network layer payload
o UDP, TCP, ICMP, IGMP, user defined transport layer payload
o RTP (payload with options to send sin wave of any frequency for G.711)
* sending sequence of packets
o delay between packets, number of packets to send
o sending with max speed, approaching the teoretical boundary
o change parameters while sending (change IP & mac address, UDP payload, 2 user defined bytes, etc.)
* saving configuration to a file and load from it - pcap format supported

PyCHM - Python bindings for CHMLIB

PyCHM is a package that provides bindings for Jed Wing's CHMLIB library.

The chm package contains four modules, namely chm.chm, chm.chmlib, chm.extra and chm._chmlib. chm.chmlib is a low level wrapper module around the API provided by the C library chmlib. Quoted from Jed's README:

"chmlib is a small library designed for accessing MS ITSS files. The ITSS file format is used for Microsoft Html Help files (.chm), which have been the predominant medium for software documentation from Microsoft during the past several years, having superceded the previously used .hlp file format."

chm.chm provides some high level functionality over chm.chmlib, such as access to the .chm file contents tree.

chm.extra contains extra functionality to allow detection encodings in the CHM archives and to support full-text search.

This package is based on the package 'rage' from project 'home:dmitry_serpokryl:SOAD'.

This is a media center designed mostly for use on a television hooked up to
your pc via a remote control. see the key controls at the end to make your
remote send the right keystrokes - eventually this will be 100% configurable
via the gui.

This is a WORK IN PROGRESS - it is NOT COMPLETE. do not expect everything to
work and do what you want.

Configuration:

mkdir ~/.rage

edit ~/.rage/volumes

1 line in this file is a path to a media volume to use for media. eg:

/home/user/files/my_media
/media/cdrom
/media/nfs/server

etc.

just add lines per media volume to scan and add to your media library.

Controls:

You can always update your package to the current state just by rebuilding the .spec file:

or by rebuilding the .src.rpm file itself:

ROX is a fast, user friendly desktop which makes extensive use of drag-and-drop. The interface revolves around the file manager, or filer, following the traditional Unix view that `everything is a file' rather than trying to hide the filesystem beneath start menus, wizards, or druids. The aim is to make a system that is well designed and clearly presented. The ROX style favours using several small programs together instead of creating all-in-one mega-applications.

Shake is a defragmenter that runs in userspace, without the need of patching the kernel and while the system is used (for now, on GNU/Linux only).
There is nothing magic in that : it just works by rewriting fragmented files. But it has some heuristics that could make it more efficient than other tools, including defrag and, maybe, xfs_fsr.
As an example, it allows you to write find -iname '*.mp3' | sort | shake to defrag all mp3 in a directory, puting together on the disk those close in lexical order.

Tracker is a tool designed to extract information and metadata about your personal data so that it can be searched easily and quickly.

By using Tracker, you no longer have to remember where you've left your files. To locate a file you only need to remember something about it, such as a word in the document or the artist of the song. This is because as well as searching for files in the traditional way, by name and location, Tracker searches files' contents and metadata.

This package is based on the package 'urwid' from project 'home:ablackburn'.

Urwid is a Python library for making text console applications. It has many features including fluid interface resizing, support for UTF-8 and CJK encodings, standard and custom text layout modes, simple markup for setting text attributes, and a powerful, dynamic list box that handles a mix of widget types. It is flexible, modular, and leaves the developer in control.

Waker Daemon intended to wake from suspend and run jobs at second-interval
times as well as talk over dbus.

Wicd is an open source wired and wireless network manager for Linux which aims to provide a simple interface to connect to networks with a wide variety of settings.

Some of Wicd's features include:

1. No Gnome dependencies (although it does require GTK), so it is easy to use in XFCE, Fluxbox, Openbox, Enlightenment, etc.
2. Ability to connect to wired and wireless networks
3. Profiles for each wireless network and wired network
4. Many encryption schemes, some of which include WEP/WPA/WPA2 (and you can add your own)
5. Remains compatible with wireless-tools
6. Tray icon showing network activity and signal strength

This package is based on the package 'xchm' from project 'home:dmitry_serpokryl:SOAD'.

xCHM is a cross-platform GUI front-end to chmlib, with borrowed bits from
Pabs' chmdeco project. xCHM can show the content tree if one is available, print pages, change font face and size, remember bookmarks, display a searchable index, and search for words in the current page and the whole book.

X File Explorer (Xfe) is a filemanager for X. It is based on the
popular X Win Commander, which is discontinued. Xfe is desktop
independent and is written with the C++ Fox Toolkit. It has Windows
Commander or MS-Explorer look and is very fast and simple. The main
features are: file associations, mount/umount devices, directory tree
for quick cd, change file attributes, auto save registry, compressed
archives view/creation/extraction and much more.

This package is based on the package 'zeroinstall-injector' from project 'home:talex5'.

The Zero Install Injector makes it easy for users to install software without
needing root privileges. It takes the URL of a program and runs it (downloading
it first if necessary). Any dependencies of the program are fetched in the same
way. The user controls which version of the program and its dependencies to
use.

Zero Install is a decentralised installation system (there is no central
repository; all packages are identified by URLs), loosly-coupled (if different
programs require different versions of a library then both versions are
installed in parallel, without conflicts), and has an emphasis on security (all
package descriptions are GPG-signed, and contain cryptographic hashes of the
contents of each version). Each version of each program is stored in its own
sub-directory within the Zero Install cache (nothing is installed to
directories outside of the cache, such as /usr/bin) and no code from the
package is run during install or uninstall. The system can automatically check
for updates when software is run.
