Involved Projects and Packages
This subproject contains the source code for the implementation classes
of the Java Servlet and JSP APIs (packages javax.servlet).
The Simple Logging Facade for Java or (SLF4J) is intended to serve
as a simple facade for various logging APIs allowing to the end-user
to plug in the desired implementation at deployment time. SLF4J also
allows for a gradual migration path away from
Jakarta Commons Logging (JCL).
Logging API implementations can either choose to implement the
SLF4J interfaces directly, e.g. NLOG4J or SimpleLogger. Alternatively,
it is possible (and rather easy) to write SLF4J adapters for the given
API implementation, e.g. Log4jLoggerAdapter or JDK14LoggerAdapter..
TagSoup is a SAX-compliant parser written in Java that, instead of
parsing well-formed or valid XML, parses HTML as it is found in the wild: nasty
and brutish, though quite often far from short. By providing a SAX interface,
it allows standard XML tools to be applied to even the worst HTML.
The Web Services Description Language for Java Toolkit (WSDL4J) allows
the creation, representation, and manipulation of WSDL documents
describing services. This codebase will eventually serve as a
reference implementation of the standard created by JSR110.
Xalan is an XSLT processor for transforming XML documents into HTML,
text, or other XML document types. It implements the W3C
Recommendations for XSL Transformations (XSLT) and the XML Path
Language (XPath). It can be used from the command line, in an applet or
a servlet, or as a module in other program.
Xerces2 is an XML parser in the Apache Xerces family. This version is the
reference implementation of the Xerces Native Interface (XNI), a modular
framework for building parser components and configurations.
Xerces2 implements the Document Object Model Level 3 Core and Load/Save W3C
Recommendations, the XML Inclusions (XInclude) W3C Recommendation, and supports
OASIS XML Catalogs v1.1. It can parse documents conforming to the XML 1.1
Recommendation, except that it does not yet provide an option to enable
normalization checking as described in section 2.13 of this specification. It
handles name spaces according to the XML Namespaces 1.1 Recommendation, and
serializes XML 1.1 documents if the DOM level 3 load/save APIs are in use.
This is xml-apis from the java-bootrapping-tools package. DO NOT
INSTALL ... THIS IS JUST FOR PACKAGING & BOOTSTRAPPING JAVA PURPOSES!!
XMLUnit extends JUnit to simplify unit testing of XML. It compares a control
XML document to a test document or the result of a transformation, validates
documents against a DTD, and (from v0.5) compares the results of XPath
expressions.
Xml Pull Parser 3rd Edition (XPP3) MXP1 is a new XmlPull parsing engine
that is based on ideas from XPP and in particular XPP2 but completely
revised and rewritten to take best advantage of latest JIT JVMs such as
Hotspot in JDK 1.4.
These packages might once have been in openSUSE:Factory but were not needed any more. Keeping them still here because they still might be in SLE and having a public version of them is good to avoid duplicate work and keeping them in sync.
