Involved Projects and Packages
The ATK library provides a set of accessibility interfaces. By
supporting the ATK interfaces, an application or toolkit can be used
with screen readers, magnifiers, and alternate input devices.
atkmm is the C++ binding for the ATK library.
This module is part of the GNOME C++ bindings effort.
Avahi is an implementation of the DNS Service Discovery and Multicast
DNS specifications for Zeroconf Computing. It uses D-BUS for
communication between user applications and a system daemon. The daemon
is used to coordinate application efforts in caching replies, necessary
to minimize the traffic imposed on networks.
The Avahi mDNS responder is now complete with features, implementing
all MUSTs and the majority of the SHOULDs of the mDNS and DNS-SD RFCs.
It passes all tests in the Apple Bonjour conformance test suite. In
addition, it supports some nifty things, like correct mDNS reflection
across LAN segments.

Brasero is an application to burn CD/DVDs for the GNOME Desktop. It is
designed to be as simple as possible and has some unique features to
enable users to create their discs easily and quickly.
It supports creating audio discs, data discs, burning ISO and other
image files, and duplicating discs.
Cairo is a vector graphics library with cross-device output support.
Currently supported output targets include the X Window System,
in-memory image buffers, and PostScript. Cairo is designed to produce
identical output on all output media while taking advantage of display
hardware acceleration when available.
This package provides a C++ interface for Cairo.
Caribou is a text entry and UI navigation application being developed
as an alternative to the Gnome On-screen Keyboard. The overarching goal
for Caribou is to create a usable solution for people whose primary way
of accessing a computer is a switch device.
The CELT codec is an experimental audio codec for use in low-delay
speech and audio communication.
Check is a unit test framework for C. It features a simple interfacefor
defining unit tests, limitating the developer the less possible. Tests
are run in a separate address space, so Check cancatch both, assertion
failures and code errors that cause segmentationfaults or other
signals. The output of unit tests can be used within source code
editors and IDEs.
Cheese is an application to take photos and videos with your webcam,
with fun graphical effects.
Clutter is an open source software library for creating fast, visually
rich and animated graphical user interfaces.

rich and animated graphical user interfaces.
Clutter GStreamer enables the use of GStreamer with Clutter.
Clutter is an open source software library for creating fast, visually
rich and animated graphical user interfaces.
Clutter GTK+ enables the use of GTK+ with Clutter.
Cogl is a small open source library for using 3D graphics hardware to draw
pretty pictures.
This library provides an unified way to recalculate colors
in order to present alternative views on images for colorblind
people.
colord is a system activated daemon that maps devices to color profiles.
It is used by gnome-color-manager for system integration and use when
there are no users logged in.
This package provides a PolicyKit helper to configure cups with
fine-grained privileges. For example, it's possible to let users
enable/disable printers without requiring a password, while still
requiring a password for editing printer settings.
D-Feet is a graphical D-Bus debugger. D-Bus is an RPC library used on
the Desktop. D-Feet can be used to inspect D-Bus objects of running
programs and invoke methods on those objects.
Dasher is a zooming predictive text entry system, designed for
situations where keyboard input is impractical (for instance:
accessibility or PDAs). It is usable with greatly limited amounts of
physical input while still allowing high rates of text entry.
dconf is a low-level configuration system. Its main purpose is to
provide a backend to GSettings on platforms that don't already
have configuration storage systems.
Déjà Dup is a simple backup tool. It hides the complexity of doing
backups the 'right way' (encrypted, off-site, and regular) and uses
duplicity as the backend.
Features:
* Support for local or remote backup locations, including Amazon S3
* Securely encrypts and compresses your data
* Incrementally backs up, letting you restore from any particular backup
* Schedules regular backups
* Integrates well into your GNOME desktop
