Involved Projects and Packages
Playing around with this and that package
Bidwatcher is a tool for eBay users. It is a stand alone application that can track auctions and perform automated bids called 'snipes'.
TrueType Fonts for Deadlands (wild west) RPG based websites
Huawei UMTS (HSDPA) modems, such as E220 or E169G (E620), require special initialization after the device is plugged in. This can automatically be done via rules in udev system.
The package needs a more recent kernel, so building for old openSUSE/SLES/SLED distribution doesn't make sense and is disabled. openSUSE 11.0 (and later) is recommended, but there are chances that it works in openSUSE 10.3 too, but it was never tested.
This utility checks or sets the status of a network interface's Media Independent Interface (MII) unit. Most fast ethernet adapters use an MII to autonegotiate link speed and duplex setting.
Technical info viewer and ID3 1.x tag editor in mp3 files. mp3info has an interactive mode (using curses) and a command line mode. A separate executable includes a GTK-based GUI version. MP3Info can display ID3 tag information as well as various technical aspects of an MP3 file including playing time, bit-rate, sampling frequency and other attributes in a pre-defined or user-specifiable output format.
Postgrey is a Postfix policy server implementing greylisting. When a
request for delivery of a mail is received by Postfix via SMTP, the
triplet CLIENT_IP / SENDER / RECIPIENT is built. If it is the first
time that this triplet is seen, or if the triplet was first seen less
than 5 minutes, then the mail gets rejected with a temporary error.
Hopefully spammers or viruses will not try again later, as it is
however required per RFC.
The following features compared with greylist.pl from Postfix 2.1.1 are
new: Safe database, automatic maintenance, whitelists, lookup by
subnet, auto-whitelisting of clients, only Berkeley DB and no large
mysql nor postgresql DB needed.
A front-end for the CUPS printer daemon. You can change and save the
used printer, paper settings, and other options. It only requires the X
Window System - no Gnome or KDE.
This project is used by kssingvo to prepare packages for openSUSE:Factory submissions. Usually all package changes should get submitted here for review and testing first.

SquidGuard is a free (GPL), flexible and ultra-fast filter, redirector,
and access controller plugin for squid. It lets you define multiple
access rules with different restrictions for different user groups on a
squid cache. SquidGuard uses squid's standard redirector interface.
The programs compface and uncompface convert 48x48x1 images to and from
a compressed format. The purpose of the programs is to allow the
inclusion of face images within mail headers using the field name
"X-face:". They make use of a library that allows the compression and
decompression algorithms to be used in other programs, such as mail
dispatchers and mail notification daemons.
This program enables you to convert MIME, SUN mailtool, and 'plain old
style RFC822'.
It is especially useful for elm users.

IMAPFilter is a mail filtering utility. It connects to remote mail
servers using the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), sends
searching queries to the server and processes mailboxes based on the
results. It can be used to delete, copy, move, flag, etc. messages
residing in mailboxes at the same or different mail servers. The 4rev1
and 4 versions of the IMAP protocol are supported.
IMAPFilter uses the Lua programming language as a configuration and
extension language.
