Involved Projects and Packages
This project is used by lnussel to prepare packages for openSUSE:Factory submissions. Usually all package changes should get submitted here for review and testing first.
the cryptsetup package for Factory is developed here
REPOSITORIES REMOVED BY ADMIN DUE AS ANNOUNCED
This package is based on the package 'cryptsetup' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.
cryptsetup is used to conveniently set up dm-crypt based device-mapper
targets. It allows to set up targets to read cryptoloop compatible
volumes as well as LUKS formatted ones. The package additionally
includes support for automatically setting up encrypted volumes at boot
time via the config file /etc/crypttab.
Our bleeding edge distribution. This will become the next official openSUSE distribution, Alpha and Beta versions are mastered from this distribution.

Adblock Plus allows you to regain control of the internet and view the web the way you want to. The add-on is supported by over forty filter subscriptions in dozens of languages which automatically configure it for purposes ranging from removing online advertising to blocking all known malware domains. Adblock Plus also allows you to customize your filters with the assistance of a variety of useful features, including a context option for images, a block tab for Flash and Java objects, and a list of blockable items to remove scripts and stylesheets.
Starting with Adblock Plus 2.0 there is an option in Filter Preferences to allow some non-intrusive advertising. The goal is to support websites using non-intrusive ways to advertise and to encourage more websites to do the same. Read more

Your web browser trusts a lot of certification authorities and chained sub-authorities, and it does so blindly. "Subordinate or intermediate certification authorities" are a little known device: The root CAs in your browser can delegate permission to issue certificates to an unlimited amount of subordinate CAs (SCA) just by signing their certificate, not by borrowing their precious private key to them. You can even buy yourself such a CA from GeoTrust or elsewhere.
It is unclear how many intermediate certification authorities really exist, and yet each of them has "god-like power" to impersonate any https web site using a Man in the Middle (MITM) attack scenario. Researchers at Princeton are acknowledging this problem and recommending Certificate Patrol. Revealing the inner workings of X.509 to end users is still deemed too difficult, but only getting familiar with this will really help you get in control. That's why Certificate Patrol gives you insight of what is happening.
If you still think a MITM attack is unlikely to happen to you, read this user report.
Despite its compact size, Download Statusbar packs in more useful features than the standard download window. The fully customizable interface auto-hides when not in use, allowing full control without interruption.

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.
Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
* Macromedia Flash
* Macromedia Shockwave
* Macromedia Authorware

** HEADS UP **
Some flash is slipping past Flashblock on Firefox 4.0 (mostly Flash inside IFRAME subdocuments). I'm currently investigating.
Download one link, selected links or all the links of a page together at the maximum speed with a single click, using the most popular, lightweight and reliable external download managers. The new "FlashGot Media" command grabs video and audio clips while they're playing, too. Supported download tools are dozens, see http://flashgot.net for details.
ForceTLS is an adaptation of the ForceHTTPS protocol by Collin Jackson and Adam Barth, which supports a simple HTTP header in forcing automatic connections to HTTPS connections in the future. Here's how it works:
1. A site x.com served via HTTPS provides a X-Force-TLS (or Strict-Transport-Security) HTTP header in its response. The header contains a max-age value (how long to remember the forced TLS) and optionally an includeSubDomains flag.
2. The browser recieves this header and adds it to a Force TLS database.
3. In the future, any requests to x.com are modified to be via HTTPS if they are attempted through HTTP before the request hits the network.
4. If any subdomains *.x.com are requested via HTTP and the includeSubDomains flag was set, they are also forced to be HTTPS.
Use this add-on to extend Firefox so that it will listen to X-Force-TLS suggestions from web servers. This add-on will enforce secure connections for sites that use the X-Force-TLS header as well as the Strict-Transport-Security header.
Allows you to customize the way a web page displays or behaves, by using small bits of JavaScript.
Hundreds of scripts, for a wide variety of popular sites, are already available at http://userscripts.org.
You can write your own scripts, too. Check out http://wiki.greasespot.net/ to get started.

Ever started type into an edit box on some web page (such as to post a comment or describe why your scooter was defective and they should send you new one)?
If so, then you need "It's All Text!"
This miracle extension provides an edit button for any edit box[1] on any page or your money back[2]!
At the bottom right corner of any edit box, a little edit button will appear. Click it. If this is the first time you've used "It's All Text!" then you will be asked to set your preferences, most importantly the editor.
The web page will pop up in your selected editor. When you save it, it'll refresh in the web page. Wait for the magic yellow glow that means that the radiation has taken effect!
Remember, with great power outages come great responsibility outages.
Ciao!
PS: Mac OS X users. I'm sorry, but due to the way applications are, especially editors, using It's All Text! is a little harder than everyone else... see http://docwhat.gerf.org/2007/03/its_all_text_v06/ for some tricks. I do own a MacBook Pro now, but am focusing on lower level stuff, atm.

With Speed Dial, you can easily access your most used websites. To show the Speed Dial tab, use the Speed Dial button (which can be added to the toolbar), or enter "chrome://speeddial/content" in your location bar.
To assign one website to Speed Dial, use the new "Set as Speed Dial" option in the bookmarks menu, or right click on the tab you want to add, and choose "Set as Speed Dial". That option is also available in the contextual area menu.
Speed Dial will be automatically loaded in blank new windows. It can also load in blank new tabs. To configure this, and other options, use the extension settings panel.
IMPORTANT: if your weather dial shows "Unavailable", please update to the latest version available from the office website at http://speeddial.uworks.net/mirror.html
DownloadHelper is a tool for web content extraction. Its purpose is to capture video and image files from many sites.
Just surf the Web as you are used to, when DownloadHelper detects it can do something for you, the icon gets animated and a menu allows you to download files by simply clicking an item
For instance, if you go to a YouTube page, you'll be able to download the video directly on your file system. It also works with MySpace, Google videos, DailyMotion, Porkolt, iFilm, DreamHost and others.
Since version 3.1, you can setup the extension to automatically convert the downloaded movies to your preferred video format.
When you are on a page containing links to images or movies, you can download some or all of them at once. Moving the mouse over the items in the menu will highlights the links directly in the page to make sure they are the ones you want to pick up.
DownloadHelper also allows you to download files one by one, so that you keep bandwidth to surf for other stuff to download.
To modify your preferences, like changing the download directory, right-click on the icon and choose "Preferences".
When you first install the extension, your browser is redirected to a welcome page with links to a user manual at http://www.downloadhelper.net/manual.php and a faq at http://www.downloadhelper.net/faq.php
This does not change your homepage setting and the welcome page won't appear anymore.
Support can be obtained from http://www.downloadhelper.net/support.php
