Namazu is a full-text search engine software intended for easy use. It
works not only as a CGI program for small or medium scale WWW search
engines, but also works for personal use such as a search system for
the local hard disk.
ObexFTP works with all protocols supported by openobex (OpenOBEX).
Currently, these are: - irda (IrDA),
- bluez-utils (BlueTooth)
- setserial (Serial)
Pybliographer is a tool for managing bibliographic databases. It
currently supports the following formats:
* BibTeX (quite complete)
* Medline (read-only)
* Ovid files (from ovid.com)
* Refer and EndNote (read only)
* SGML DocBook (write only)
Pybliographer can be used for searching, editing, reformatting, etc. In
fact, it's a simple framework that provides easy to use python classes
and functions, and therefore can be extended to any usage (generating
HTML pages according to bibliographic searches, etc).
In addition to the scripting environment, a graphical GNOME interface
is available. It provides powerful editing capabilities, in addition to
a nice hierarchical search mechanism.
PyChecker is a tool for finding bugs in python source code. It finds
problems that are typically caught by a compiler for less dynamic
languages, like C and C++. Because of the dynamic nature of python,
some warnings may be incorrect; however, spurious warnings should be
fairly infrequent.
Python is an interpreted, object-oriented programming language, and is
often compared to Tcl, Perl, Scheme, or Java. You can find an overview
of Python in the documentation and tutorials included in the python-doc
(HTML) or python-doc-pdf (PDF) packages.
If you want to install third party modules using distutils, you need to
install python-devel package.
This module makes the libao (libao (Audio Output)) functions available
in python (Python). With this module you can write Python applications
that use the cross platform audio output library.

This package contains all of stand-alone Python files, minus binary
modules that would pull in extra dependencies.
This python extension contains a BibTeX parser and simple bindings to
the GNU Recode library. This extension is intended to be used with
pybliographer.
A Python interface to the Unix dialog utility, designed to provide an
easy, pythonic and as complete as possible way to use the dialog
features from Python code.
Tutorial, Global Module Index, Language Reference, Library Reference,
Extending and Embedding Reference, Python/C API Reference, Documenting
Python, and Macintosh Module Reference in HTML format.
A Python module for the the manipulation of ID3 tags. It supports the
versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.3, and 2.4 of the ID3 standard. It can also
retrieve information, such as length and bit rate, from an MP3 file.
PyGPGME is a Python module that lets you sign, verify, encrypt and
decrypt messages using the OpenPGP format.
It is built on top of the GNU Privacy Guard and the GPGME library.
The Python Imaging Library adds fairly powerful image processing
capabilities to the Python interpreter and provides extensive file
format support, and efficient internal representation.
iniparse is an INI parser for Python which is API compatible with the
standard library's ConfigParser, preserves structure of INI files
(order of sections & options, indentation, comments, and blank lines
are preserved when data is updated), and is more convenient to use.
python-ldap provides an LDAP client API for Python in the spirit of
RFC1823. It includes a Python module called _ldapmodule that wraps an
LDAP C library, an object-oriented API for X.500 directories. See
python-ldap pages on http://python-ldap.sourceforge.net/
MySQLdb is an interface to the popular MySQL database server for
Python. The design goals are:
- Compliance with the Python database API version 2.0
- Thread-safety
- Thread-friendliness (threads will not block each other)
- Compatibility with MySQL-3.23 and later
This module should be mostly compatible with an older interface written
by Joe Skinner and others. However, the older version is a) not
thread-friendly, b) written for MySQL 3.21, and c) apparently not
actively maintained. No code from that version is used in MySQLdb.
MySQLdb is free software.
NumPy is a general-purpose array-processing package designed to
efficiently manipulate large multi-dimensional arrays of arbitrary
records without sacrificing too much speed for small multi-dimensional
arrays. NumPy is built on the Numeric code base and adds features
introduced by numarray as well as an extended C-API and the ability to
create arrays of arbitrary type which also makes NumPy suitable for
interfacing with general-purpose data-base applications.
There are also basic facilities for discrete fourier transform,
basic linear algebra and random number generation.

This is an object-oriented Python binding for the ogg library.
OpenGL bindings for Python including support for GL extensions, GLU,
WGL, GLUT, GLE, and Tk.
This release supports the core PAM API. There is still some missing
functionality, but it should implement enough of the API for most
needs. There is not much in the way of documentation at this point. If
you are familiar with the PAM API, a quick glance at the sample program
should get you going.
Pygame is a Python wrapper module for the SDL multimedia library. It
contains Python functions and classes that allow you to use SDL's
support for playing CD-ROMs, audio and video output, and keyboard,
mouse and joystick input. Pygame also includes support for the
Numerical Python extension. Pygame is the successor to the pySDL
wrapper project, written by Mark Baker.
Python package for the creation of encapsulated PostScript figures. It
provides both an abstraction of PostScript and a TeX/LaTeX interface.
Complex tasks like 2d and 3d plots in publication-ready quality are
built out of these primitives.
Python bindings for libvorbis
