Involved Projects and Packages
Photobooth like application supporting libgphoto2 cameras. (for webcams look at cheese)
This package contains the fetchmsttfonts helper script, which on
running retrieves and unpacks the freely available MS Truetype fonts.
This tool contains simple GTK interface for viewing EXIF information within JPEG images created by some digital cameras.
gPhoto (GNU Photo) is a command line tool for previewing, retrieving, and capturing images from a range of supported digital cameras to your local hard drive. It does not support digital cameras based on the USB storage protocol, because those can be mounted by Linux directly.
NOTE: Automatically created during Factory devel project migration by admin.
This package provides a fuse module to make digital cameras supported by libgphoto2 visible as a file system.
GTKam is a GTK and GNOME based tool for accessing a digital camera, viewing thumbnails, and downloading pictures from the camera.
This library is used to parse EXIF information from JPEGs created by digital cameras.
This library contains GTK widgets for viewing EXIF information within JPEG images created by some digital cameras.
gPhoto (GNU Photo) is a set of libraries for previewing, retrieving, and capturing images from a range of supported digital cameras to your local hard drive. It does not support digital cameras based on the USB storage protocol. Those can be mounted by Linux directly.
You can use this to implement a surveillance solution with a webcam.
motion is good in motion detection.
Pretty lightweight , yet flexible and feature-rich daemon.

Note that the version build against straight openSUSE repositories
does not contain support for video encoding -- you need to rpmbuild
the .src.rpm yourself on a system that has ffmpeg installed to get
those capabilities.
The NVIDIA Texture Tools is a collection of image processing and texture manipulation tools, designed to be integrated in game tools and asset conditioning pipelines.
The primary features of the library are mipmap and normal map generation, format conversion and DXT compression.
DXT compression is based on Simon Brown's squish library. The library also contains an alternative GPU-accelerated compressor that uses CUDA and is one order of magnitude faster.
pngcrush is an excellent batch-mode compression utility for PNG images. Depending on the application that created the original PNGs, it can improve the file size anywhere from a few percent to 40% or more (completely losslessly). The utility also allows specified PNG chunks (e.g. text comments) to be inserted or deleted, and it can fix incorrect gamma info written by Photoshop 5.0 as well as the erroneous iCCP chunk written by Photoshop 5.5.
This program has nothing to do with the GIF format. It is an extremely
powerful and easy to use vector-oriented drawing program which has
every feature you would expect in a drawing utility.
