GSmartControl is a graphical user interface for smartctl, which is a tool for
querying and controlling SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting
Technology) data in hard disk drives. It allows you to inspect the drive's
SMART data to determine its health, as well as run various tests on it.
Anki is a spaced repetition system (SRS). It helps you remember things by intelligently scheduling reviews, so that you can learn a lot of information with the minimum amount of effort.
Gonvert is a conversion utility that allows conversion between many units, like CGS, Ancient, and Imperial, with many categories, such as length, mass, and numbers. All converted values are shown at once as you type. It is easy to add and change your own units.
KShutdown is a graphical shutdown utility that works
with many Desktop Environments. It allows you to turn off
or suspend a computer at a specified time. It features
various time and delay options, command-line support,
and notifications.
SMTube is an application that allows to browse, search and play YouTube videos.
Videos are played back with a media player (by default SMPlayer) instead of a web browser, this allows better performance, particularly with HD content.
SMTube is included in SMPlayer's menus, to run it just select YouTube browser in the Options menu in the SMPlayer main window, or just press F11.
Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy-to-configure DNS forwarder and DHCP
server. It is designed to provide DNS and, optionally, DHCP, to a small
network. It can serve the names of local machines that are not in the
global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows
machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in DNS with names
configured either in each host or in a central configuration file.
Dnsmasq supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP for network
booting of diskless machines.
ENet's purpose is to provide a relatively thin, simple and robust network communication layer on top of UDP (User Datagram Protocol). The primary feature it provides is optional reliable, in-order delivery of packets.
ENet omits certain higher level networking features such as authentication, lobbying, server discovery, encryption, or other similar tasks that are particularly application specific so that the library remains flexible, portable, and easily embeddable.
hping3 is a network tool able to send custom TCP/IP packets and to display
target replies like ping do with ICMP replies. hping3 can handle
fragmentation, and almost arbitrary packet size and content, using the
command line interface.
Since version 3, hping implements scripting capabilties, read the API.txt
file under the /docs directory to know more about it.
As a command line utility, hping is useful to test at many kind of
networking devices like firewalls, routers, and so. It can be used as
a traceroute alike program over all the supported protocols, firewalk usage,
OS fingerprinting, port-scanner (see the --scan option introduced with hping3),
TCP/IP stack auditing.
JonDo is the local proxy client for JonDonym anonymous webservice.
JonDonym (the name is derived from John Doe and Anonymous) protects your
privacy on the Internet and makes truely anonymous using of webservices
possible. You may use JonDo like a proxy for different web applications.
For anonymous web surfing we hardly recommend Firefox or Iceweasel
together with the JonDoFox profile.
JonDoFox is a profile for the Mozilla Firefox web browser or
Firefox ESR (recommended), particularly optimized for anonymous
and secure web surfing. For anonymous surfing you need an
IP changer proxy too. We recommend our proxy tool JonDo.
By default JonDoFox uses restrictive settings for security reasons.
Time by time a website does not work like expected. You may have
a look at our online help for JonDoFox to learn how to deal with
restrictions.
This package contains an secure browser profil for anonymous web browsing.
ProxyChains NG is based on ProxyChains.
ProxyChains NG hooks network-related (TCP only) libc functions in dynamically
linked programs via a preloaded DSO (dynamic shared object) and redirects the
connections through one or more SOCKS4a/5 or HTTP proxies.
Since Proxy Chains NG relies on the dynamic linker, statically linked binaries
are not supported.
Adjust ~/.proxychains/proxychains.conf for your Proxy and use ProxyChains NG
with
proxychains4 application
FiSH/Mircryption-compatible encryption for XChat/HexChat.

Switzerland is a tool for testing networks, ISPs and firewalls developed
by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (www.eff.org). It will spot
IP packets which are forged or modified between clients, inform you,
and give you copies of the modified packets.
Torsocks allows you to use most applications in a safe way with Tor.
It ensures that DNS requests are handled safely and explicitly rejects
any traffic other than TCP from the application you're using.
Torsocks is an ELF shared library that is loaded before all others.
The library overrides every needed Internet communication libc function
calls such as connect(2) or gethostbyname(3).
This process is transparent to the user and if torsocks detects any
communication that can't go through the Tor network such as UDP traffic,
for instance, the connection is denied. If, for any reason, there is no way
for torsocks to provide the Tor anonymity guarantee to your application,
torsocks will force the application to quit and stop everything.
Adjust when needed /etc/torsocks.conf and use Torsocks with
usewithtor application
So, for example you can use ssh to a some.ssh.com by doing
usewithtor ssh -p SSH-Port -i ~/.ssh/ssh-key.rsa username@some.ssh.com
You can use in /etc/bash.bashrc.local or /etc/zsh.zshrc.local alias
alias slogin-='usewithtor slogin'
And can ajust ~/.ssh/config with your data for server or PC and then use simple
slogin- server
or add too an alias
alias slogin-server='slogin- server'
and use simple
slogin-server
Bandwidth Monitor NG is a small and simple console-based live bandwidth monitor
for Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X and others.

- unlimited number of interfaces supported
- interfaces are added or removed dynamically from list
- white-/blacklist of interfaces
- output of KB/s, Kb/s, packets, errors, average, max and total sum
- output in curses, plain console, CSV or HTML
- configfile
This package provides commands which can be used to display the system's DNS
name, and to display or set its hostname or NIS domain name.
Replacement of some commands from net-tools, see http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2015-06/msg00133.html
Ping Tunnel is a tool for reliably tunneling TCP connections over ICMP echo request and reply packets (commonly known as ping requests and replies). It is useful for evading firewalls that, for whatever reason, prevent outgoing TCP connections, but allow in- and outgoing ICMP packets. The tunnel works by having a proxy run on a machine ping-able from the inside of the firewall, with the client running on the local machine from which TCP access is required.
urlwatch is intended to help you watch URLs and get notified (via email or in your terminal) of any changes. The change notification will include the URL that has changed and a unified diff of what has changed.
The script supports the use of a filtering hook function to strip trivially-varying elements of a webpage.
This program is a program written in Python that searches for strings
in files created by OpenOffice.org, Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice or
StarOffice 6.0 or higher. This is especially true for all documents
that were created in the Open Document Format. In addition, it can now
also search in documents created by Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint
from the 2007 version in an OOXML format.
Pybtex is a BibTeX-compatible bibliography processor written in Python which
can produce formatted bibliographies in different, customizable formats. It
supports both native BibTeX style files and styles written in Python and
accepts BibTeX, BibTeXML, and a custom YAML-based bibligraphy input format and
can output LaTeX, HTML, and plain text.
Furthermore, Pybtex provides an interface for Python applications which need to
process the above formats.
The libstatgrab library provides an easy-to-use interface for accessing system
statistics and information.
Available statistics include CPU, Load, Memory, Swap, Disk I/O, and Network
I/O. It was developed to work on Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.
The package also includes two tools: saidar provides a curses-based interface
for viewing live system statistics, and statgrab is a sysctl-like interface to
the statistics.
