FFTW is a C subroutine library for computing the Discrete Fourier
Transform (DFT) in one or more dimensions, of both real and complex
data, and of arbitrary input size.

With the file command, you can obtain information on the file type of a
specified file. File type recognition is controlled by the file
/etc/magic, which contains the classification criteria.

Freeglut is a completely open source alternative to the OpenGL Utility
Toolkit (GLUT) library. GLUT was originally written by Mark Kilgard to
support the sample programs in the second edition OpenGL Redbook. Since
then, GLUT has been used in a wide variety of practical applications
because it is simple, universally available, and highly portable.
GLUT (and freeglut) allow the user to create and manage windows
containing OpenGL contexts and also read the mouse, keyboard, and
joystick functions on a wide range of platforms.

GLee provides a simple interface for using extensions and core OpenGL
functionality beyond OpenGL version 1.1, and automates the otherwise tedious
process of linking function pointers. GLee works with both C and C++
compilers.

The OpenGL Extension Wrangler Library (GLEW) is a cross-platform
open-source C/C++ extension loading library. GLEW provides efficient
run-time mechanisms for determining which OpenGL extensions are
supported on the target platform. OpenGL core and extension
functionality is exposed in a single header file.

JACK is a low-latency audio server written primarily for the Linux
operating system. It can connect a number of different applications to
an audio device, as well as allow them to share audio between
themselves. Its clients can run in their own processes (as a normal
application), or they can run within a JACK server (as a plug-in).

BeeCrypt is an ongoing project to provide a strong and fast
cryptography toolkit. Includes entropy sources, random generators,
block ciphers, hash functions, message authentication codes,
multiprecision integer routines, and public key primitives.

Secret Rabbit Code (aka libsamplerate) is a Sample Rate Converter for
audio. One example of where such a thing would be useful is in
converting audio from the CD sample rate of 44.1kHz to the 48kHz sample
rate used by DAT players.
SRC is capable of arbitrary and time varying conversions; from
downsampling by a factor of 12 to upsampling by the same factor. The
conversion ratio can also vary with time for speeding up and slowing
down effects.

Libsndfile is a C library for reading and writing sound files, such as
AIFF, AU, and WAV files, through one standard interface. It can
currently read and write 8, 16, 24, and 32-bit PCM files as well as
32-bit floating point WAV files and a number of compressed formats.

PortAudio is a portable audio I/O library designed for cross-platform
support of audio. It uses a callback mechanism to request audio
processing. Audio can be generated in various formats, including 32 bit
floating point, and will be converted to the native format internally.

The xz command is a very powerful program for compressing files.
* Average compression ratio of LZMA is about 30% better than that of
gzip, and 15% better than that of bzip2.
* Decompression speed is only little slower than that of gzip, being
two to five times faster than bzip2.
* In fast mode, compresses faster than bzip2 with a comparable
compression ratio.
* Achieving the best compression ratios takes four to even twelve
times longer than with bzip2. However. this doesn't affect
decompressing speed.
* Very similar command line interface to what gzip and bzip2 have.
