Involved Projects and Packages

Clutter is an open source software library for creating fast, visually
rich and animated graphical user interfaces.

Clutter GTK+ enables the use of GTK+ with Clutter.

GNOME-python-extras is an extension module for python that gives you
access to more GNOME libraries. This means you have access to more
widgets, simple configuration interface, metadata support and many
other features.

Python bindings for goocanvas.

This module contains a wrapper that allows GStreamer applications to be
written in Python.

PyGtkGLExt is a Python language binding for GtkGLExt.

GtkSourceView is a text widget that extends GtkTextView, the standard
GTK+ text widget.

It improves GtkTextView by implementing syntax highlighting and other
features typical of a source editor.

This package contains Python bindings for the library.

Liblouis is an open-source braille translator and back-translator.
It features support for computer and literary braille, supports
contracted and uncontracted translation for many, many languages
and has support for hyphenation. New languages can easily be added
through tables that support a rule- or dictionary based approach.

Liblouis also supports math braille (Nemeth and Marburg). The
formatting of braille is provided by the companion project
liblouisxml.

Liblouis is based on the translation routines in the BRLTTY
screenreader for Linux. It has, however, gone far beyond these
routines. It is named in honor of Louis Braille.

Included are also tools for testing and debugging tables.

Python bindings for libnotify.

A module for using the Samba client API in Python programs.

The Telepathy project aims to provide a unified framework for all forms
of real time conversations, including instant messaging, IRC, voice
calls and video calls. It uses the DBus messaging system to provide a
simple interface for client applications, allowing them to quickly
benefit from Telepathy's functionality.

Python extension for emulating keypresses and getting current keyboard layout.

PyWebKitGtk provides an API for developers to program WebKit/Gtk using
Python.

The project share the same goals with WebKit. The purpose of this
binding is to bring an alternative web engine to Python/GTK+
application developers who might need a web browser engine for their
next application or developers wishing to have a better browser engine
that they can access to using the Python programming language.

python-xdg (PyXDG) is a python library to use freedesktop.org
specifications.

The Python X Library is intended to be a fully functional X client
library for Python programs.

Redland is a library that provides a high-level interface for RDF
(Resource Description Framework) implemented in an object-based API. It
is modular and supports different RDF parsers, serializers, storage and
query languages. Redland is designed for developers to provide RDF
support in their applications as well as a core library for RDF
developers to start with.

ScrollKeeper is a cataloging system for documentation. It manages
documentation metadata (as specified by the Open Source Metadata
Framework (OMF)) and provides a simple API to allow help browsers to
find, sort, and search the document catalog.

It will also be able to communicate with catalog servers on the net to
search for documents which are not on the local system.

Seahorse is a gnome2 interface for gnupg. It uses gpgme as the backend.

Seahorse is a graphical interface for managing and using encryption
keys. Currently it supports PGP keys (using GPG/GPGME) and SSH keys.
Its goal is to provide an easy to use Key Management Tool, along with
an easy to use interface for encryption operations.

This package provides various plugins for seahorse.

Seed is a library and interpreter, dynamically bridging (through
gobject-introspection) the WebKit JavaScriptCore engine with the GObject type
system. In a more concrete sense, Seed enables you to immediately write
applications around a significant portion of the GNOME platform, and easily
embed JavaScript as a scripting language in your GObject library.

Simple Scan is an easy-to-use application, designed to let users connect
their scanner and quickly have the image/document in an appropriate
format.

Simple Scan is basically a frontend for SANE - which is the same backend
as XSANE uses. This means that all existing scanners will work and the
interface is well tested.

The default freedesktop.org sound theme following the XDG theming
specification. (http://0pointer.de/public/sound-theme-spec.html).

system-config-printer is a graphical user interface that allows the
user to configure a CUPS print server.

This is the Tango base theme. On top of that, the package includes
some specific icons from the legacy tango-icon-theme-extras package.

Butterfly is a connection manager for Telepathy that provide support for
MSN, via the papyon library.
