python-h5py
H5py provides a simple, robust read/write interface to HDF5 data from Python.
Existing Python and Numpy concepts are used for the interface; for example,
datasets on disk are represented by a proxy class that supports slicing, and
has dtype and shape attributes. HDF5 groups are presented using a dictionary
metaphor, indexed by name.

- Updated to 2.8.0 Changes from 2.7.1 are too numerous to list here, complete changelog is available online at https://github.com/h5py/h5py/releases Patch dont_reorder_compund.patch has been included upstream - Remove dependency on unittest2 Patch remove_unittest2.patch facilitates the change
