Linux* Open-iSCSI Software Initiator
Open-iSCSI is a high-performance, transport independent, multi-platform
implementation of RFC3720 iSCSI.
Open-iSCSI is partitioned into user and kernel parts.
The kernel portion of Open-iSCSI is a from-scratch code licensed under
GPL. The kernel part implements iSCSI data path (that is, iSCSI Read
and iSCSI Write), and consists of two loadable modules: iscsi_if.ko and
iscsi_tcp.ko.
User space contains the entire control plane: configuration manager,
iSCSI Discovery, Login and Logout processing, connection-level error
processing, Nop-In and Nop-Out handling, and (in the future:) Text
processing, iSNS, SLP, Radius, etc.
The user space Open-iSCSI consists of a daemon process called iscsid,
and a management utility iscsiadm.

Revision 46 (latest revision is 53)
- Update idbm.c files to stop i586 string overflow warnings, updating: * open-iscsi-SUSE-latest.diff.bz2 - iscsiuio: Do not flush tx queue on each uio interrupt. This makes ping to such NICs work better (bsc#1102589) - Do not allow multiple sessions just because they were started in parallel (bsc#1107753) - when iscsid started up and found stale sessions it tried forever to reconnect them, during which time the session info was printed incorrectly. Fix that printing, and add ability to limit reconnect retries (bsc#1088389), updating: * open-iscsi-SUSE-latest.diff.bz2 - New library version needs to Obsolete the prevoius version, and add a note about *not* editing the SPEC file directly, both updating the SPEC file - Restore space to output of "iscsiadm -m node" (bsc#1111608), from upstream commit, updating: * open-iscsi-SUSE-latest.diff.bz2 - Use libkmod instead of running modprobe (bsc#1106685), updating the spec file, and: * open-iscsi-SUSE-latest.diff.bz2 - iscsiuio: limit retries of dhpcv6 (bsc#1106694), updating: * open-iscsi-SUSE-latest.diff.bz2
