I had major problems with this package (it doesn't work) only to be solved by following the tip at:
https://web.archive.org/web/20211203052814/https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/547375-LXQT-sudo-doesn-t-work-applications-don-t-open?p=3074271
Symptoms are exactly the same as OP. As it requires editing another/shared file at /usr/bin/xdg-sudo I thought I better post it here. There should be a way to "fix" it without changing it. Or, is xdg-sudo is itself wrong?
