To your construct %{python_sitelib}/whatthepatch*/ we still prefer the two line version:
%{python_sitelib}/whatthepatch*/
%{python_sitelib}/whatthepatch %{python_sitelib}/whatthepatch-%{version}*-info
(it also checks for correctly generated metadata … setuptools generates happily in some cases invalid metadata, except than it uses some random invalid version number).
