I am unsure whether this change is needed. The package builds currently fine in devel:languages:ruby:extensions. So why is this change necessary?

and the current staging project with the changes: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:G
Yeah currently the package is broken in Staging:G as krop says.
