@dimstar: can you share why we need a compat package? what is failing with it? remmina has been updated to work with only 3.x

FWIW, gnome-remote-desktop 46.0 will be blocked without freerdp >= 3.1.0, and the existing gnome-remote-desktop 45.1 does not work correctly with the other GNOME 46 components that have now rolled out, so that GNOME feature is currently broken in Tumbleweed - looks like these requests exist to help unblock the root of the situation?
