FTR - I maintained the version that you had in your spec file here. requirements.txt claims boto3>=1.4.1

I guess we are back to the "age old question" of how to name packages that are intended to be both a module and command line tool. ec2imgutils is written such that "import ec2imgutils.ec2deprecateimg" for example works. We use ec2imgutils in this way, as a module, in our image release automation.
