@gmbr3 What do you think about dropping this for now until we figured out if this package is maintainable longterm?

Lubos Kocman's avatar

We do have a problem since openQA requires chromedriver and that would mean that people would not be able to run openQA on Leap without adding custom repositories.

Lubos Kocman's avatar

Would it make sense to make a call for maintainership help on Factory mailing list? I think everybody agrees that openQA is important business case. Alternative would be to package chromedriver seperately (not sure if it's possible).

Andreas Stieger's avatar

Yes, trying to get in touch with Callum first

Callum Farmer's avatar

Yeah massive sorry, it's been university coursework week. I'll post to Factory later asking for new maintenership and I'll update the bug with exactly what's going on in terms of updates and patching

Callum Farmer's avatar

I'm unsure whether it's possible I believe it may also call the chromium executable on launch although I typically don't check that part

Callum Farmer's avatar

I was aware SUSE openQA depended on it (by my own lookup not alerted) about 3 months after I took over from SUSE.. like seriously why isn't SUSE helping me

Lubos Kocman's avatar

Marcus mentioned also nextcloud ... I wish people would use it in containers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlqWeLkG55U

Callum Farmer's avatar

Yeah and technically ungoogled-chromium depends on my patches. The maintainer has spoke on Reddit saying if it goes, that goes aswell

Lubos Kocman's avatar

I did meanwhile ask Scott Reeves regarding help, his team maintaines firefox in SLES.

Callum Farmer's avatar

Yeah, I'll try and keep updated over the next few hours, although I maybe unavailable at some points
