In libnbd and nbdkit, stable branches are even numbered and development branches are odd numbered. I prefer stable branches for Factory/TW. I'd be fine with a request updating to nbdkit v1.38.2.
Hi James, bit unfortunate, since Fedora Rawhide ships it as well - but understood. I will wait then.
Is there a feature or something else you need from the master branch that's not in the stable-1.38 branch?
Also, I should clarify my previous comment. Stable branches are indeed even numbered, and contain even numbered tags. There are no odd numbered branches. Odd numbered tags only correspond to the master branch. E.g. $ git branch --contains v1.39.7 * master
I was mostly interested in the bzip2 filter, but it's not urgent. I get it, the stable versions also have a release notes man page.
