The update alone should have fixed build already - the slightly more recent lock-down to ffmpeg6 should not be needed.

Huh? My SRs for guvcview and cutterff built fine with the ffmpeg 7, why do you want to use the old version exactly?
I received notification that it wasn't building for factory. You are welcome to fix it to build with ffmpeg-7, I'll even make you a maintainer so that you get the notification, this includes cutterff as well.
why do we downgrade to ffmpeg-6? we really want to move to 7 and get rid of older versions.
it's failed to build since August 13, 2024 12:03
Should I revoke this as well?
The fix to build with ffmpeg7 was only a few hours older than the locking to ffmpeg 6... there were two ways to fix the build failure
So why wasn't it submitted, that's what superseded is for. Instead of all of these demeaning comments.
I'm on the receiving end of those requests - and do not control what happens in devel projects.
What I can see is that Christoph's SR, updating the version and fixing ffmpeg7 usage was accepted, and later you submitted a ffmpeg-6 lock to the devel prj and accepted it. At that time it presumably was already fixed in the devel prj but you did not notice it
Just my bad luck that somebody failed to forward the request to Factory, I would have seen it then, instead I was treated as if I was a naughty child. I'm 70 years old by the way.
They were. Your SRs caused automatic decline and @tiwai revoked the SRs afterwards.
