Apparently some stuff from apache2.4 was backported into apache2.2
Without this patch, loading the module fails with
httpd2-prefork: Syntax error on line 116 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf:

Cannot load /usr/lib64/apache2/mod_auth_kerb.so into server:
