I'm hitting an assertion failure here that I'm trying to work out with upstream, ref http://list.coin-or.org/pipermail/bonmin/2015-April/000424.html

For now, put -DNDEBUG in ADD_CXXFLAGS to disable assertions, since that would be the default setting if CXXFLAGS were not pre-set in the environment.
