I wonder why that isn't following the naming policy..
python-FOO is forpython modules, FOO for the program the user might care for; (we also don't have C++-zypper)
Here one can argue that the 'xonsh' python module is not ever meant to be loaded by anything but xonsh; otherwise, it would be best to split it into xonsh (the user facing part) and pyton[23]-xonsh (the python module part)
Should I split it or is it ok to split it with the next update?
IMV you don't have to split it at all. You even have the right Provides in case anyone is searching for it as a dependency.
