+sed -i 's/\bmetainfo\b/appdata/' $(grep -rwl 'metainfo')

this seems wrong: /usr/share/metinfo supersedes /usr/share/appdata, and as such it seems the original location is correct (there are .appdata.xml files and also .metainfo.xml files in this location; the suffix is not interchangable)
