John, I have to admit very very secret Python-openSUSE-cabal (that's me ;)) decided to hurt Mercurial as much as possible. We really really don't want to promote anything mercurial-related. It is still python2-only and it has tendency to pull python2 as dependency in places we don't want to have it. If anyone wants mercurial, she can still install it, but nothing should BuildRequire, Require, Suggest, or Recommends it. If Mercurial upstream finally pulls its ... from their ... , we will welcome it back happily, but I am not holding my breath.
