I think this was more an exception as I wanted to see MATE being installable again in Tumbleweed, as fast as possible...
As @jbrielmaier said it was a bit of a pressing thing and honestly I didn't realize it was a beta. It works fine imo but we can always revert to stable and backport the patches if it makes more sense?
Any caveats? I think we should really go forward here, as MATE is still not installable on TW...
A patch in caja-extensions is already on it's way to upstream: https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja-extensions/pull/53
