Fixed py2; sorry about that.
Also trimmed a few optional lib deps which are not working yet, and noted the doctests are failing

Explicitly scientific users? imagecodecs is codecs . In the description it mentions scientific when referring to the authors own packages tifffile and czifile -- .czi format is overtly scientific - but the others just codecs of formats used in many industries, and not overtly scientific. All compression algorithms are numeric in nature but the many existing packages for them are not in :numeric .

I believe this belongs in the main :python collection, alongside python-imageio which depends on imagecodecs and is needed to fix the incorrect licensing of openSUSE imageio package https://github.com/imageio/imageio/search?q=imagecodecs&unscoped_q=imagecodecs

If it is only the description in the .spec which is causing it to be redirected to :numeric , I can copy edit the description. Please advise.

Although this can be used in a general sense, it is explicitly aimed at scientific users. So I think this would be better in devel:languages:python:numeric.
