Rename the tools? ssdiff_p, xls2csv_p?
Beep?
Beep Beep?
The 'what to do' is not clear in every case.
for xls2csv for example I'd wonder if the external tool is just compatible; If so, do not package it as part of perl-Spreadhseet-Read, but rather keep the external tool (or if same code base, but more recent in your code, replace the external package with a new split out)
for for ssdiff: rename is an option, but that will require extra care in case the other code starts that in some place
