I fail to see why we need the service file. Usually people have the following alias alias oscsd="osc service localrun download_files" and get the tarball with oscsd without the need of a service file. That's usually only used for bigger changes or git.

Interesting, thanks for the pointer. I updated the SR. Googling the command finds it in some OBS documentation, but it wasn't in the docs I read when I got started ... If just OBS/OpenSUSE packaging docs weren't so awful and spread out over dozens of partially outdated wiki pages ...
