Since this seems to be a dependency generator, just use
$RPM_ARCH
instead of$HOSTTYPE
.HOSTTYPE
is a bashism, it depends on the particular way bash was built (autoconf triplet), and, adding insult to injury, SUSE's/etc/profile
can set the value to non-autoconf triplets, such as uname machine types.RPM_ARCH
is%_build_arch
. (Not as good as%_target_cpu
, but at least it's a value by and for rpm builds.)grep -r _build_arch /usr/lib/rpm/platform
for possible values.Dim - did it myself .. 898542
I'm in favor of that - but please in a 2nd step; currently, the fix is quite important to get ppc moving at all again (least change possible - will try your SR in G:Nfactory for the next few days)
