you probably want something like
Version: %{majorver}.0~rc1
This would allow to later update to version %{majorver}.0 (without it being considered a downgrade)
That would require to repack the source....
why would that be nescessary? you can add 1.0rc1 in the %setup directive;
%autosetup -n %name-1.0rc1
just in case the "how" for the "add" was not clear.
It does not find the version 1.0~rc1 on pypi (of course...). So I would need to add the source locally. Or you need to show me the trick :-)
