noto-sans-cjk-fonts is already in patterns-gnome-gnome_X11. I don't see any reason for it to not serve as the fallback font for the fonts_opt patterns.

You'd be better to discuss on factory ML at first. There was a reason why *-cjk had to be dropped, and it has to be clarified whether the unconditional Recommends can be put again.

Then I will supersede this with the request to add back in the efonts as that would not be a controversial change. I mainly just want to ensure that this regression is fixed, my personal aesthetic tastes come second to that. (and Simon Lees does seem to be looking into all of this)
