BCC is a toolkit for creating efficient kernel tracing and manipulation programs, and includes several useful tools and examples. It makes use of eBPF (Extended Berkeley Packet Filters), a new feature that was first added to Linux 3.15. Much of what BCC uses requires Linux 4.1 and above.
C library for managing eBPF programs and maps
PAPI aims to provide the tool designer and application engineer with a
consistent interface and methodology for use of the performance counter
hardware found in most major microprocessors. PAPI enables software
engineers to see, in near real time, the relation between software
performance and processor events.
liburcu is a LGPLv2.1 userspace RCU (read-copy-update) library. This data
synchronization library provides read-side access which scales linearly with
the number of cores. It does so by allowing multiples copies of a given data
structure to live at the same time, and by monitoring the data structure
accesses to detect grace periods after which memory reclamation is possible.
All kind of developments tools. Esp. profiling and debugging tools.

This package provides a tool 'perf', which monitors performance for either
unmodified binaries or the entire system. It requires a Linux kernel which
includes the performance counters subsystem (kernel version >= 2.6.31).
SystemTap is an instrumentation system for systems running Linux 2.6.
This package contains the documents and examples for systemtap.
LTTng (Linux Trace Toolkit Next Generation) is a tracer for Linux.
It is a kernel module accompanied by a toolchain (ltt-control) to control the tracing, as well as a trace viewing and analysis application (LTTV).
LTTng includes a set of kernel instrumentation points useful for debugging a wide range of bugs, that are otherwise extremely challenging.
These include, for example, performance problems on parallel systems and on real-time systems.
LTTng is designed for minimal performance impact and has a near zero impact when not tracing. LTTng has at least basic support for all Linux architectures.
This package provides a top-like, ncurses-based utility to analyze LTTng trace information.

The audit package contains the user space utilities for storing and
processing the audit records generated by the audit subsystem in the
Linux 2.6 kernel.
The audit-libs-python package contains the bindings for using libaudit
by python.
The audit-visualize package contains scripts to produce flow graphs and
bar charts from audit data.
This package provides a higher-level library to access ELF files. This
is a part of elfutils package.
