4Suite is a Python-based toolkit for XML and RDF
application development.

It features a library of integrated tools for XML processing,
implementing open technologies such as DOM, RDF, XSLT, XInclude,
XPointer, XLink, XPath, XUpdate, RELAX NG, and XML/SGML Catalogs.
Layered upon this is an XML and RDF data repository and server,
which supports multiple methods of data access, query, indexing,
transformation, rich linking, and rule processing, and provides
the data infrastructure of a full database system, including
transactions, concurrency, access control, and management tools.
It also supports HTTP, SOAP, RPC, and FTP, plus APIs in
Python and XSLT.

Dblatex started as a DB2LaTeX clone. With dblatex you can: transform a DocBook XML/SGML book or article to pure LaTeX.

Tools for splitting and merging DocBook documents,

GNU diction and style are free implementations of old standard unix
commands, that are not available on many modern systems, because they
have been unbundled. Diction prints wordy and commonly misused phrases.
Style analyses surface characteristics of a document, e.g. sentence
length and various readability measures, but unlike the original code,
it lacks sentence type, word usage and most sentence beginning processing.

Both commands support Dutch, English and German documents.

You can buy a printed copy, read it online, or download it in
a variety of formats. It is also available in multiple languages.

docbook2epub is a Python/XSLT application to convert a DocBook XML document to ePub.

Docbook2odf is a toolkit that automaticaly converts DocBook to OASIS OpenDocument (ODF, the ISO standardized format used for texts, spreadsheets and presentations). Conversion is based on a XSLT which makes it easy to convert DocBook->ODF, ODT, ODS and ODP as all these documents are XML based.

Also goal of docbook2odf is to generate well formatted documents in OpenDocument, ready to be used in instant, with actually considering current rules of the Corporate Identity of organizations. Final results
should not be restricted to text like documents but also many other forms could be generated, like presentations, charts or forms with images and multimedia.

The doclifter program translates documents written in troff macros to
DocBook. Lifting documents from presentation level to semantic level
is difficult, and a really good job requires human polishing, but this
tool does about 95% of the work. It aims to do everything that can be
mechanized, and to preserve in XML comments any troff-level
information that might have structural implications. Also includes
manlifter, a driver script that can be used to convert entire
manual-page hierarchies.

dvi2bitmap is a utility to convert TeX DVI files directly to bitmaps,
without going through the complicated (and slow!) route of conversion
via PostScript and PNM. The prime motivation for this is to prepare
mathematical equations for inclusion in HTML files, but there are
plenty of uses beyond that. It uses the same kpathsea font-searching
library as other TeX programs, again as long as you have the
appropriate library installed.
