Dracut contains tools to create a bootable initramfs for 2.6 and newer Linux kernels.
Unlike existing implementations, dracut does hard-code as little as possible
into the initramfs. Dracut contains various modules which are driven by the
event-based udev. Having root on MD, DM, LVM2, LUKS is supported as well as
NFS, iSCSI, NBD, FCoE with the dracut-network package.

This Dracut module integrates the OpenSSH sshd into your
initramfs. It allows for remote unlocking of a fully encrypted
root filesystem and remote access to the Dracut emergency shell
(i.e. early userspace).

This package is based on the package 'libatasmart' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

The libatasmart package

This library provides GObject bindings for libudev. It was originally part of udev-extras, then udev, then systemd. It's now a project on its own.

librelp is an easy to use library for the RELP protocol. RELP in turn provides
reliable event logging over the network (and consequently RELP stands for
Reliable Event Logging Protocol). RELP was initiated by Rainer Gerhards after
he was finally upset by the lossy nature of plain tcp syslog and wanted a cure
for all these dangling issues.

RELP (and hence) librelp assures that no message is lost, not even when
connections break and a peer becomes unavailable. The current version of RELP
has a minimal window of opportunity for message duplication after a session has
been broken due to network problems. In this case, a few messages may be
duplicated (a problem that also exists with plain tcp syslog). Future versions
of RELP will address this shortcoming.

Please note that RELP is a general-purpose, extensible logging protocol. Even
though it was designed to solve the urgent need of rsyslog-to-rsyslog
communication, RELP supports many more applications. Extensible command verbs
provide ample opportunity to extend the protocol without affecting existing
applications.

Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd supporting, among others,
MySQL, syslog/tcp, RFC 3195, permitted sender lists, filtering on any
message part, and fine grain output format control. It is quite
compatible to stock sysklogd and can be used as a drop-in replacement.
Its advanced features make it suitable for enterprise-class, encryption
protected syslog relay chains while at the same time being very easy to
setup for the novice user.

systemd is a system and session manager for Linux, compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts. systemd provides aggressive parallelization capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes using Linux cgroups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an elaborate transactional dependency-based service control logic. It can work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit.

Starting with openSUSE 12.1, several RPM macros must be used to package systemd services files. This package provides these macros.

The udisks package, second useless edition

The Portable Hardware Locality (hwloc) software package provides
a portable abstraction (across OS, versions, architectures, ...)
of the hierarchical topology of modern architectures, including
NUMA memory nodes, shared caches, processor sockets, processor cores
and processing units (logical processors or "threads"). It also gathers
various system attributes such as cache and memory information. It primarily
aims at helping applications with gathering information about modern
computing hardware so as to exploit it accordingly and efficiently.

hwloc may display the topology in multiple convenient formats.
It also offers a powerful programming interface (C API) to gather information
about the hardware, bind processes, and much more.

This library was previously a dependency of Rsyslog. It is up now obsolete and should no longer be used. The sources are kept for archiving purposes.

LibKSI - Keyless Signature Infrastructure GuardTime client library

Liblogging is an easy to use logging library.

It contains the Libstdlog component is used for standard logging
(syslog replacement) purposes via multiple channels.

testsuite included in systemd sources

This repository contains tools for using, configuring or fine tuning various types of specific hardware, both external and internal.

Please consider new packages for inclusion only if they allow unique operations on certain
hardware, of a specific class or vendor.

Especially GUI packages should go to the corresponding GUI project, unless they exclusively meet the previous condition.
