The package should not add an inaccurate dependency on a version which it does not need.
The package would build perfectly fine with markdown < 3 on TW too - there is no requirement forcing 3.0
Having multiple providers of a library is nothing special at all and there are dozens of Prefer: statements in prjconf for that. The same exists for markdown to make sure 3.0 is the preferred choice

I can't see why this would be needed. the provides is in two packages, but there is a distro-wide preference to use version 3.0.
